Lady Eagles remain undefeated

Although Mexia was expected to be the Lady Eagles' toughest competition, they were proven wrong after seven innings of play in the March 30 District competition, leaving the Lady Eagles undefeated. Senior Abby Garcia pitched 6.1 innings, striking out three and throwing 25 first-pitch strikes. Freshman Carsyn Cox closed the game with two strikeouts on only six pitches. Sophomores Bailey Jones and Margo Measles both had three hits resulting in runs on the board. Other hitters included senior Banner Monico, sophomore Rebecca Dunlap, and junior Katie Henrichs.


China Spring ends Lady Eagle softball season

Fairfield's quest for a Bi-District softball title was ended by the hard hitting, powder-blue clad Lady Cougars from China Spring last week, 15-5. The abrupt end to a terrific turn-around season may have been hard to take for the Lady Eagles and their families and fans, but it didn't diminish the great memories accumulated by a District Championship team that overcame adversity, and won seven consecutive district games to end the regular season!
