The 2017-18 basketball season for the Fairfield Lady Eagles came to an all-too-soon end last Friday night in Lorena, as they lost the Area round game to some hot shooting Lady Dawgs from Burnet, 50-33. However, it was not before they added a Bi-District trophy to their District Championship hardware, in a 52-38 victory over Waco Connally last Monday, Feb. 12 in a game that mirrored their successful season.

The Fairfield Lady Eagles had split results on the hardwood last week evening out their season record at (11-11), (0-1) in district play. Last Tuesday, Jan. 10, they hosted the Jacksonville Lady Indians and overcame their huge, 6-foot-3-inch post player, getting her into foul trouble in the second period, after she had blocked several shot attempts!

Fairfield finally began hitting some key shots, and their constant defensive pressure began to pay dividends with turnovers converted to points. A close game, 25-21 at the half, saw the Lady Eagles gradually pull away in the third and fourth quarters to a double digit victory.
