A free softball clinic was held by Fairfield Lady Eagles March 19-20 for students in 3rd through 6th grades, with or without softball experience. During this free clinic, the Lady Eagles worked individually with these young players, both teaching by example and answering questions. They worked in stations to address a variety of skills and covered all aspects of the game. The clinic served as a perfect opportunity for the younger girls to meet and form bonds with the 2018 team. Softball is in full “swing” and players invite community members to cheer on their favorite team, Little League through high school!

Lady Eagles lose to Madisonville, JV wins

Despite Banner Monico's two-hit night and Kaci Bachtel's strong first five innings on the mound, Fairfield's varsity softball team fell 9-0 to Madisonville last Tuesday, March 15, in Fairfield. Bachtel shut out the hot Lady Mustang bats through five innings, striking out batters in each inning, after giving up four unearned runs in the first. The Lady Eagles could muster only three hits off the Madisonville hurler, and the Lady Mustang hitters finally broke through on Bachtel in the final two frames to garner the shutout.
