Rotary donates to Harvey evacuees

Fairfield Rotary Club donated $500 to Rotary District 5930 in McAllen to help with hurricane relief efforts in the Valley. In addition to this, the club is purchasing $200 worth of gasoline cards to help with local efforts for evacuees coming north from the flood and hurricane areas. FHS shot clinic proves to be huge success

FHS seniors and Science Club officers Cole Beddingfield, Drew Garcia and Lori Neill, along with Communities In Schools Program Manager Amy Evans, Abby Warren and Vance Oglesbee, of Hometown Pharmacy, were on hand to assist students during the clinic.

Sixteen college-bound seniors at Fairfield High School took part in the 1st Annual Vaccination Clinic hosted on campus last week by the FHS Science Club. Texas state law requires that all individuals receive a bacterial meningitis vaccination prior to entering their first year of college. But for many, spring of senior year is a hectic time when schedules are packed with school activities, in-boxes are full of college notifications, and classwork has reached fever pitch. Finding time to make an appointment or arrange for transportation to receive the required vaccination can be challenging for those planning to attend college upon graduation.
