4th graders enjoy Food for America

Fairfield fourth graders learned where their food comes from at the annual Food for America event held last week at the fairgrounds. Students learned facts about dairy products, watched a dairy cow be milked, toured an ambulance and a fire truck, learned about recycling, FFA and Young Farmers, and much more. While learning about snakes and alligators, the students were able to see and touch live snakes and a baby alligator. Volunteers from the community – including EMS, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and firefighters – donated their time to this yearly event sponsored by the Fairfield Young Farmers and FFA.
