J.R. Corne retires after 25 years, honored with plaque

After 25 years of faithful service, J.R. Corne announced his retirement from the Fairfield Hospital District board last week. Corne was honored by a private ceremony at Freestone Medical Center Thursday, Jan. 25, during which time the board officially recognized him and revealed his name plate and bronze portrait that will forever identify the boardroom with his name. Board President George Robinson, now the longest serving board member, said Corne has always promoted the hospital and been concerned with the health and well-being of the community.

FHS OKs new logo for hospital

Fairfield -- Fairfield Hospital District (FHD) board members unanimously selected a logo for Freestone Medical Center at the recent board meeting after previously considering various logo treatments, fonts, and colors to complement the new theme.

Hospital board honors Orms, talks change

Bill Rohloff, of Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), provided the hospital board with an update at last week's meeting regarding the transition process from ETMC to Freestone Medical Center. “We have four candidates for the emergency services,” Rohloff explained. “The current Schumacher Group wants to put in another contract along with the others.”

CHC announces hospital change

Fairfield – The Fairfield Hospital District Board has approved a new name for the hospital in Fairfield, Texas — Freestone Medical Center. The new name marks the transition of hospital operations from ETMC to the Fairfield Hospital District which will occur in December 2016. “We appreciate the community’s involvement, patience, and support, and we’re excited to move ahead as we transfer hospital operations to the District,” said Fairfield Hospital District Board Chair George Robinson, adding, “Freestone Medical Center is a valuable community resource. We look forward to preserving and improving health care services as we move into the future.” Community Hospital Consulting (CHC Consulting) of Plano, Texas, is working with the Board and hospital leaders to help coordinate and smooth the transition process through the end of 2016.
