Golf tourney planned May 6

The Fairfield ISD Education Foundation will host its first annual golf tournament Friday, May 6, at the Tri-County Golf Club. Players tee off at 9 a.m. for a shotgun start, and lunch will be catered. Prizes, including ones for a hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest to the hole, will be awarded. The cost per 4-person team is $500, and all proceeds will be directly given to Fairfield teachers in the form of grants. Fairfield boys of spring get comeback win over Mexia

The Eagle varsity baseball team plated two runs in the bottom of the first and sixth innings, around a lone score in the third, to take a come-from-behind, 5-4 victory over the Mexia Blackcats, and secure a playoff spot with only two regular season games remaining.
