Roads closed due to flooding

City officials closed several roads in Fairfield today due to flooding issues. City Administrator Jeff Looney says the water is receding, which means the drainage is working, but urges people to take precautions when driving.
Closed roads include:
Bateman Street - these barricades are still up at the corner of Reunion and Renee streets. There is also a barricade up at the corner of U.S. 84 and Main Street, next to Dollar General.
Talford Street
Old Palestine Road
S. Texas 75 - TxDOT crews and City Police Officers are said to be on scene
Oak Street entrance to Thousand Oaks neighborhood
Several residents have reported flooding at the following:
FCR 540
FM 489 in Dew near CR 411
U.S. 84 East near Wildwood Addition
