Copperhead raises $3,000

The annual Copperhead 5k - open to all ages - was Aug. 23, and had a great turnout.
Of the 120 people who registered, about 100 actually participated raising approximately $3,000.

Eagles played ‘perfect scrimmage’ Friday

Fundamentals taught at basketball camp

Coach Stephen Heers kicked off the annual girl’s basketball camp July 21 at Fairfield High School (FHS).
Heers is the offensive coordinator and head coach at FHS, as well as the main basketball coach for the past five years.
Roughly 30 girls signed up for the camp, ranging in age from first grade to high school.

Softball State Championship

Forty-two teams participated in the 12UIFA/VDT Softball State Championship last weekend in College Station. Freestone County was represented by three players on the 1st place Young Guns team, who were undefeated in the tournament and qualified to advance to the National level.
