Eagles come up short in recent invitational

Charles Oliver won the slam dunk contest at the basketball invitational.

The fighting Fairfield Eagles hosted its first annual basketball invitational this weekend in Fairfield with 15 teams from around the region.  
Although the Eagles placed second in the overall tournament, losing to 5A Corsicana in the finals, this team is a force to be reckoned with in Class 4A.

Sports are life for Cam Adams

“Growing up around basketball has had a great impact on my life.
“I love to watch college and professional basketball. To me it’s the greatest sport to play,” said Cam Adams.

Athlete busy with sports, academics

Fairfield senior Caitlynn Stone is a busy person.
She participates in basketball, volleyball, softball, band and UIL.
Just finishing volleyball season, the Lady Eagle stepped right into basketball as a guard with plans to make it to the playoffs.
“I just want to be the best ball handler I can be, and a great team leader to help my team win first place for district and go even further in the playoffs,” said Caitlynn Stone.
Stone’s mother was the girls head basketball coach and introduced her to Little Dribblers.
“My mom has been teaching me basketball for many years.
“She got me into it basically. She coached for Fairfield before I got into

Eagles smash Pirates 24-16 Friday

Nothing could stop the Eagles from scoring a touchdown Friday night.

The Fairfield Eagles took down the hosting Shepherd Pirates by a count of 24-16 last Friday, Nov. 14.
The Eagles now own a 9-2 record. Their next game is against Gladewater for the area matchup Friday, Nov. 21.
The Fairfield Eagles will face off against a Bears squad coming off a 66-14 bi-district win over Community.
The Bears record now stands at 10-1.

Eagles whoop Leopards 41-6

Fairfield finished with a bang during their last district game of the 2014 season,  defeating the Lorena Leopards 41-6.
The Eagles showed no signs of slowing down after coming off their district loss to the Mexia Blackcats as they dominated the Leopards, only allowing 159 yards of total offense.

Lady Eagles ready for bi-district game

The Lady Eagles Varsity volleyball team placed second in their division after taking down the Madisonville Mustangs in four matches on October 28.
Following their win, the girls head to bi-district in Waco to take on the Gatesville Hornets.
The Mustangs tried to mount a comeback after their win in the third match, but the Eagles superb playing ended the game in the fourth match.

Eagles win 3rd district game 69-27

This Rusk player had nowhere to go when he found himself surrounded by Eagles at Fairfield’s Pink Out game Friday. Fairfield won 69-27. For more football photos, see page 7.

The Fairfield Eagles took down the Rusk Eagles with an impressive 583 yards of total offense and 10 total touchdowns.
Rusk just couldn’t keep up with the high-scoring Eagles, as Fairfield won their third straight district game 69-27.
Fairfield quickly jumped ahead of the Rusk Eagles 21-0 in the first quarter, not letting Rusk gain more than 20 yards of total offense.

Another win for the Eagles

The Fairfield Eagles steam rolled Groesbeck in a blowout game that left the Goats with only 50 yards of total offense.
The Eagles quickly took care of business as they opened the game 7-0 with their first drive.
