Doris Fay Ivy Patrick was born in the Mt. Zion Community, near Fairfield, May 9, 1926, to Johnie James Ivy and Ruby Irma Harrison.
She had one brother, J. Bradford Ivy, of Fairfield.
Doris graduated in 1942, from Fairfield High School with honors and a scholarship in music.
She attended Texas Women’s University at Denton, and graduated in 1945, at age 18, with honors and a bachelor of science degree.
She began her teaching career in Streetman where her first assignment was

Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Bailey and Foster Chapel, with Pastor Jay Abernathy officiating.
Burial followed at Roselawn Park.
Visitation was at 1 p.m. before the service. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Graveside services for Mr. Jim (James) Reid were held at 4 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin.
Rev. Alan Van Hooser officiated and Masonic Rites were given by members of Boggy Lodge No. 739.
Visitation was held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday beginning at the funeral home.
A funeral procession lined up at 3:30 p.m. to travel to the cemetery.
Mr. Reid passed away Saturday, March 29, at the Teague Nursing Home.
He was born in California and moved around to numerous states

A viewing was held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe Street in Teague, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
