Harold Mooney, Jr.

Harold Mooney

Harold Mooney Jr., 90, of LaCygne, Kansas, the son of Harold and Mabel Hahn Mooney, died Sept. 30, at the Louisburg Healthcare Center.
He was born April 3, 1924, on the family farm northeast of LaCygne in rural Linn County, Kansas.
His first eight years of school he attended New Home, a one-room school house, and later graduated in 1942, from LaCygne Rural High School.
On July 29, 1944, Harold married Vivian Fannan in Olathe, Kansas.
They bought the neighboring farm east of where Harold was born, and raised two sons, Larry and Robert Mooney.

Bishop Tyree Gatson, Sr.

Bishop Tyree Gatson, Sr. was born December 22, 1926, in Fairfield, to Willie and Verila Gatson.
Tyree had a long and productive life. He was a proud World War II veteran, Christian, minister, outdoorsman, and a devoted husband and father.
Those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
His gentle smile and caring heart brought much joy to his family.
Tyree gave us all such courage and hope, and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

Frank O'Banion

Frank O’Banion, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Oct. 6, with his family around him.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at First Baptist Church in Cross Plains, Texas.
Visitation was from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains.
An additional visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the parlor at First Baptist Church for out of town guests to greet the family prior to the service.
Frank Jennings O’Banion was born August 17, 1934, to Guy Frank and Nettie Gertrude Wilkerson O’Banion in San Antonio.

Mary Hellen Reardon White, 92, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, in Fairfield.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Neumann officiating.
Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery.

Mary Minchew

Mary Minchew, 64, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, at her residence. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 6, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Skinner officiating.
Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery.

Claude Sparks

Claude Sparks, born Dec. 14, 1939, in Pasadena, Texas, passed away Sept. 21, at his home near Oakwood.
He graduated Pasadena High School and went to work for Weingarten doing inventory.  
He later went to work for Olin Mathieson and worked at that location for several different companies as one bought out the other.
After retiring from Exxon Mobil he moved to “the country.”

Services for Robert “Bob” Taylor, 71, of Streetman, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Monsignor Zak officiating.
Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Taylor died Saturday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Mary Johnson were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the First United Methodist Church in Teague with Rev. Alan Van Hooser officiating.
