Bert Borchardt Lambert, 95, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, in Fairfield. 
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Bonner Cemetery in  Stewards Mill with Pastors Spain and Betty Trask officiating.
Bert was born in the Post Oak community on May 9, 1919, the son of Betty Mowdy (1881-1960) and Elmo Joseph Lambert (1869-1949).

Peter Severtson

Peter Michael Severtson, 80, passed away at his residence in Fairfield, on Feb. 7, after a long-term illness. He was born on March 28, 1934, in Guam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ruthie Severtson; and wife, Theresa Edna Severtson. They were married on May 10, 1952.  
He graduated from National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He retired from Lockheed Martin.

Elvis Ballew, 85, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, in Waco.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Capps Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Davis officiating.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Maydelle, Texas.
Mr. Ballew was born January 8, 1930, in Maydelle, to parents William F. and Ethel Ford Ballew.

Pete Penner

Pete E. Penner, Jr, 94, of Cumberland, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Cumberland Healthcare.
He was born October 16, 1920, in Littlefield, Texas, to Pete and Katherine (Easu) Penner, Sr. Pete moved with his family to California during WWII and entered the US Navy.
He served on the USS Bennington aircraft carrier serving in the pacific.
Pete returned to California and got married to Elida Unruh in Winton on October 12, 1947.

Rosalba Cunningham

The Angelic Hosts came for Rosalba Bennett “Rose” Cunningham, 54, on Monday, Feb. 9, at her residence in Mexia, surrounded by loving family and devoted friends.
A viewing was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, and a vigil service is from 6 to 7 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe Street in Teague.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Feb. 15, in the Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home Chapel.

Conley Newman, 84, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, in Fairfield.

Chlois Gene “Smitty” Smith

Chlois Gene Smith

Chlois Gene “Smitty” Smith, 88, of Fairfield, passed away in Temple, at Scott and White Continue Care on Monday, Feb. 9.
He was born in Turnersville, Texas, to Davis Smith and Bertha Rushenburg Smith on Dec. 31, 1926.
Chlois served his country during World War II in the United States Army as a Paratrooper and later in the Merchant Marines.
He enjoyed wood working, restoring old cars and hunting with his family.
He was a 32 Degree Mason, 32 Degree Scottish
