A viewing was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Moore’s Funeral Home Chapel and a vigil service was held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Smith Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Wortham with the family present.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the First Baptist Church of Wortham with Bishop Jermany Jamal Henry officiating and Rev. Vernon Busby as eulogist.

Hallie Strickland

Hallie Olene Hunter Strickland, 93, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, in a Lake Jackson, Texas hospital. 
She was born August 29, 1922, at home at the old Bounds’ place near Streetman. 
She was the third of five children born to Frank E. and Cora Faircloth Hunter.
In 1927 the Hunter family moved to Lubbock where Hallie excelled in school and was a 1939 honor graduate of Lubbock High School at the age of 16.
