Paula Snider, of Fairfield, passed away on Monday night, Oct. 30, at Christus Mother of Francis Hospital in Tyler at the age of 68. She was born in Fairfield to Avis Lewis on June 21, 1949. She married Barry Snider in November 1968 in Fairfield at Antioch Church. She started working as a waitress and seamstress. She later went to work for the Fairfield Post Office and retired after 30 years. She did photography and genealogy in her spare time. Her greatest accomplishment was a book called Your Antioch Family that won grand prize from the Texas State Genealogy Society.

Gary Edward Bennett, 76, of Wortham, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 30, in Fairfield following a long and brave battle against Mesothelioma lung cancer. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Gary was born December 9, 1940, in Wortham, to parents L.T. and Billye Louise Means Bennett. He served his country in the Air National Guard and the United States Air Force. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He approached life with great passion and integrity. He was a gifted speaker with an outgoing personality. Gary never met a stranger. He loved nature and outdoors activities; especially hunting.

Dillion Cole Hornik, 20, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, in Pecos, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Capps Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at The Cowboy Heritage Church on U.S. 84 between Fairfield and Teague with Mr. Derek Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlile Family Cemetery in Freestone County.

Dillion was born January 28, 1997 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to parents Dale and Stormy Jones Hornik. He had been a Fairfield resident since 2012 moving from Ennis. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 2015.

Wanda Lou Moore, 75, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, in Fairfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Capps Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ed Ridge officiating. Interment followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Daniel Solley, James Steven Solley, Cheyenne Rosser Moore, Jacob Daniel Moore, Douglas Tapley, and Donald Ray Tapley, Jr. Mrs. Moore was born March 27, 1942 in Malakoff to parents Ellis L. and Myrtie O. Fuller Tapley. She had been a resident of Fairfield almost all of her life. On March 12, 1960 she married Wallace Moore and last March celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Granval Jason Nance graced this earth on February 2, 1921. He departed on October 26, at the age of 96. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Irbie and Mamie Nance; sisters, Janice Richardson, Geneva Denman, and Sarah Allen; mother of his children, Janell Nance; daughter, Linda Sweeney; and his wife, Ora Nance. He is survived by: his daughter, Glenda Hickham, of Manvel, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Michelle Nance, of Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Sue Nance, of Alvin; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Laqueta and Don Posey, of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Angle and Mary McBay; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Granval was a gentleman who lived his life by Christian values. He was a loving son, brother, husband, dad and grandad, as well as a loyal friend. After family, his love was the United States Navy.

Anne was born August 28, 1929 and went to her heavenly father on October 9, 2017. She was a 1946 Teague graduate. We will celebrate her life on Sunday at the home of Tom and Teri Hanrahan at 108 S 9th in Teague, from 12 until 2 p.m. She is preceded in death by: her mother, Mildred McVey; father, Leslie Redl and aunts, Dot McVey and Louise Goode; and uncles, Willis and Elmer McVey.

Joseph Carlton Clark, 64, former Teague Chief of Police, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on October 20, at Sachse, Texas. He was born on September 2, 1953, in Fairfield, to parents Lee Carlton and Eleanor Clark. At the time of his illness, he was employed by the City of Dallas In Home Land Security. Joseph was a Christian and loved sharing the gospel with others. He enjoyed singing and sang around the world with the Luminaires group. Joseph was a world traveler with the group visiting Africa, India, Europe, Israel and more. His other hobby was hunting.

Lindale "Foots" Granberry, of Fairfield, passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 20, at Medical City in Dallas at the age of 61. He was born in Fairfield on July 27, 1956 to Glen Haydon Granberry and Maxine Armstrong Granberry. He married his wife, Jennifer, on July 30, 1976 in Fairfield and shortly thereafter began working at the Big Brown Mine. He worked there for 37 years as a fuel mechanic and retired officially on March 31, 2015 after 37 years. Lindale enjoyed anything that involved being outside. When he was not at work you could find him on a tractor and, every now and then, hunting.
