FISD residents may see decrease in property taxes

Taxpayers in Fairfield Independent School District are looking at a tax cut this coming year, as state funds roll into district coffers thanks to the passage of House Bill 3 by the state legislature earlier this year.

Although numbers are preliminary and will not be finalized for a few weeks, Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams was able to predict, at minimum, a 10-cent drop in the total tax rate, despite a loss in appraisal values.
