Lady Eagles improve 6-0

The Fairfield girls’ basketball team won two games last week to raise their District 19-4A record to 6-0. The Lady Eagles are 22-8 overall.

Fairfield edged Rusk, 40-36, on Tuesday and then defeated Palestine, 53-24, on Friday.

Fairfield ran off the first 21 points of the game against Palestine and never looked back. Jada Clark scored seven points in the opening stanza and Belle Johnson had six on a pair of three-pointers.

Fairfield led 21-2 at the first break and increased the margin to 34-9 at halftime. They were ahead 44-18 after three quarters.

Braden Bossier and Breyunna Dowell led a balanced Fairfield scoring attack with 12 points each. Clark finished with 11 points.

Johnson scored eight points. Te’yalla Simpson netted five points. Jarahle Daniels had three points and Josey Richardson had two points to round out Fairfield’s scoring.
