Iigurubando Con confirms guests, plans for new activities

David Doub is just one of the returning panelists at this month's Iigurubando Con.

Plans are being laid for the 5th Annual Iigurubando Con with six returning panelists and two new artists planned for the event later this month. This one-day fundraiser will aid Fairfield’s Grand Band from Eagle Land in transportation needs to their annual Disney World trip. Iigurubando Con is slated for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Fairfield Junior High School commons area. Tickets are $20 and can be paid in advance on the website or at the door.

Featured guests include:

  • Lisa Umbarger – Founding member of Toadies, an American rock band
  • TekForce – Hip Hop artist; performed at various cons including Retropalooza, Dallas Comic Con, Classic Games Fest, and many more
  • Cooper Creative Art (CCA) – This duo creates paintings, drawings, sculptures, sewn goods, and more.
  • Elizabeth Howard – Owner of Wilde Designs, which she started in 2007. Wilde Designs is best known for her series The Barbie Murders, which is a photographic series of artwork
  • Lisa Cossentino – Owner of Songbird Pixel Art; professional opera singer; creates stickers, buttons, prints, and more
  • Shonuff! Studio – “Draw-matic duo” Halo Sama and Terry Parr are comic book illustrators with Shonuff! Studio; published their own comics, including AEROBICIDE, The Extreme Ninja Workout, and The Essential Zombie Kitty Pet Guide; run a Sketch Dojo program to connect with local and indie artists
  • Godswill Ugwa, Jr. – Social media coordinator at Funimation, managing the company’s Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, and Tumblr accounts; started an anime club at his university
  • David Doub – A repeat visitor to Iigurubando, Doub is publisher, founder, and head writer at Dusk Comics; helps independent creators publish their
