Another bridge project for Pct. 4

Pct. 4 Commissioner Clyde Ridge got approval from the court to seek bids in another bridge project on which he is busy working. The court okayed his request Wednesday, Oct. 17, for a bridge on County Road 1070.

“It’s on a bus route,” Ridge explained. “It’s in bad, bad condition.”

The plan is to widen the bridge, add a concrete deck, and drop more pilings to ensure a safer crossing. This bridge is part of the state program in which Ridge is involved where the state will renovate a bridge on County Road 1100 in exchange for his renovating this one.

Commissioners also approved a service agreement with Bi-Stone Pest Control for the Annex II building. After extensive termite damage, the county paid for an expensive treatment process
