James W. (Jim) Kellum

James W. (Jim) Kellum, 84, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, September 18, at his residence. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, at Round Prairie Baptist Church with Bro. Ed Ridge officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan Logsdon, Kiel Casey, Will Parker, Jonathon McAdams, Sam McAdams, Jody Bonner, Tim Cooper, and John David Nicholson. Jim was born May 26, 1934 in Alto, Cherokee County, Texas to parents Otis O. and Hattie Spurger Kellum. He was retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety and served the City of Fairfield both as City Judge and later Chief of Police. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson on September 12, 1955 in Ore City, Texas.
