Funeral services for Keith Harrup were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Jerry Bontrager officiated. Interment followed the services at Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin with an honor guard provided by the U.S. Army. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Keith Harrup passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, in a motorcycle accident near Kirvin. He was born in Palestine on June 5, 1985, grew up in Freestone County near Kirvin, and graduated from Wortham High School with the class of 2003. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for over six years. Keith completed three 12-month tours of duty during his service time, one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, earning numerous decorations and medals for his service to country. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Iraq to work private security. In 2011, he returned to Freestone County and went to work for BNSF Railroad as a conductor where he remained. Keith loved to ride motorcycles and was always happy. He never met a stranger, and enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He is survived by
