“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a blessing from him.” – Psalms 127:3. This is the mission of a newly opened daycare in the area. Academy for Blessed Children (ABC) is currently enrolling students, whose goal is to provide an early childhood program with superior care for all children.

Owner Kellie Croft runs the center Director Dacia Phillips and Assistant Director Darian Batey.

“We just did it to instill a Christian background and teach them,” said Croft.

The center uses Frog Street Curriculum, which covers nine months of the year. Croft says this will be used for each age group, specifically for each age group.

“The other three months we will spend time going back and reviewing what we have learned to make sure there are no weak spots,” she explained.

In the pre-k classroom students will learn science, social studies, and reading. Older students will have a chance to participate in science experiments.

The center can accept four infants, and approximately 51 children, ages six weeks and five years, as well as after school children.
