Letter to the editor

Dear editor,

In last Tuesday night's Council meeting that was held in the Green Barn, I estimate that 30 to 40 people were present for the evaluation and possible termination of the City Administrator. After a four hour executive session they came out and announced that no action was taken. I found that so hard to believe that we would allow outburst of the City Administrator towards customers and employees. I went back and read the employee agreement between the City Administrator and the City of Fairfield. In this agreement to terminate the City Administrator you have to have a super majority vote (four council members). I truly believe the two City Councilmen that were not in agreement to terminate were Mayor Pro-Tem Councilman Place 1 and City Councilman Place 4. If this be the case I truly wonder if the City Administrator goes out of control and hurts someone will they be able to live with themselves. With the May 5 election coming up we can change the Mayor Pro-Tem City Councilman Place 1, who is running for re-election. I have a hard time thinking that people can vote for a person that feels like the City Administrator does no wrong. I hope that the voters in Fairfield will come out and vote against workplace violence and bullying. I feel like there is no place in our town for such behavior. I was so proud of the Mayor for calling a special City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 1. I truly believe that the Mayor feels the same way I do about the employee's safety.
