The Lady Eagles lost to Gatesville last Friday, April 26, with a relatively low score loss of 5-6. The game was a post-season match at the Gatesville dugouts. Top scorer’s for the Lady Eagles were: Rebecca Dunlap with two runs, Lauren Adcock, Margo Measles, and Kealie House each with one run, Banner Monico and Margo Measles each with two runs batted in, Carsyn Cox with one strikeout as pitcher, and Abby Garcia with four strikeouts as pitcher. “Our team worked together very well,” said junior Kaitlynn Judd, “but occasionally we wouldn’t start hitting the ball until later in the game or we’d make some errors and it would cause the other team to score.” The game, at first, seemed to be in Fairfield’s favor. However, near the end of the game, Gatesville scored four runs in the sixth inning, which was enough to surpass Fairfield by two points “They simply outhit us. We started making errors near that part of the game, and they managed to get around us.”
