Fairfield Lake hosts kayak championship, bass tourney

The 2018 North Texas Kayak Championship was held over the weekend at Fairfield Lake State Park with 109 anglers competing for the biggest fish in five individual qualifying tournament events.

This event was the first stop of five trail events leading to a Classic at the end of the season. In this tournament, anglers head out on the lake in their kayaks beginning at 7 a.m. Weign in was at 4 p.m. and officials said there were 32 limits met.
