In a contest shortened by the threat of lightning, the Fairfield Eagle varsity football team turned in a suffocating defensive effort against Madisonville last Friday night, giving up only a handful of first downs and one long run, as they scored twice, while keeping the Mustangs out of the end zone!

On the lone run of any significance, their runner burst through the line and bolted from the 25 to the 25, before the Eagles' Elijah Ransom ran him down from behind.
