Prisoner grocery costs surprise court

Prior to approving the bills at their April 2 meeting, commissioners were surprised to see the Freestone County Jail spent almost $5,000 on groceries during March.
The bill register shows the jail spent $1,591 on March 5; $1,407 on March 12; and $1,763 on March 19 from Ben E. Keith Foods.
There was some debate over who orders the jail groceries.
