Thursday, February 2, 11:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. -- A free seminar, hosted by the Fairfield
Industrial Development Corporation, will be held at the Depot X, 140 E. Highway 84,
Fairfield, to learn what projects are eligible for incentives in the Fairfield Industrial
Park. Dave Zuber, President of Fairfield Industrial Development Corporation, will
talk about new businesses, expansions, and other economic development projects
planned for the Park. The other speaker, Eben Riggs, Business Consultant with
Workforce Solutions, will talk about ways he can help employers maintain a competitive advantage in the local and global economy by finding, developing, and retaining a
quality workforce. Lunch will be served. RSVP by February 1 at 903-389-5792, or by

Friday, February 3, 5 p.m. - The Fairfield Eagles and Lady Eagles will host Palestine in
district basketball contests. Freshmen and JV games will precede varsity action.

Saturday, February 4, 5 p.m. - The Mexia Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its
annual banquet at the Cowboy Club on Highway 14 in south Mexia. Following refreshments, dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. For tickets or other info, call Ivan at 254-562-3112.
The chapter will have raffles for as many as 100 guns, among other items.

Monday, February 6, 6 p.m. - The Fairfield 4-H Club will meet at the Fairfield Civic
Center.

Tuesday, February 14, 6:30 p.m. - The Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees meet at the
school administration on Post Oak Road.

Saturday, February 18, 7 p.m. - The Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department will host the
Plummer Family Country Music Show at the Teague High School auditorium. Adult
tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets for children 12 years or younger

Sunday, February 19, 6 p.m. -A candlelight Lenten Taize' Service will be held at First
United Methodist Church, Fairfield. Taize' includes Christians from all denominations world-wide and was begun in the community of Taize', France after WWII.
Everyone is welcome.
