Freestone, Limestone Farm Service Agency offering electronic news service
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Limestone and Freestone Farm Service Agency (FSA) is improving its ability to send and receive important FSA program eligibility requirements, deadlines and related information.
“The FSA is now offering free online communication through our GovDelivery electronic news service,” said Matt W. Wilson, executive director for the USDA FSA in Limestone and Freestone counties. “News will now be sent to you via e-mail right to your home or farm office or to your Smartphone allowing you to receive immediate notification of farm programs that are pertinent to your agricultural operations.”
The FSA’s GovDelivery electronic news service allows producers to establish subscriber preferences by choosing to receive federal farm program information by topic, state, or county.
They can select as many subscribers as they want, which allows a person with a farm in multiple counties or across state lines to receive updates from each county in which they operate or have an interest.
The GovDelivery system is a one-stop shop for the most up-to-date USDA program information, according to Wilson.
“If, after using this online system, producers no longer wish to receive hardcopy newsletters from their local county office, they should contact the office and make their preference known,” said Wilson.
“GovDelivery will enable FSA to keep producers better informed and allow ups to conserve resources and reduce taxpayer expenses associated with the preparation, printing and distribution of the hardcopy newsletters.”
