Memorial services were held Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague for Florence Smith, 89, of Teague who died Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 13, 1920 in Wallis to James and Nettie Habermacher and grew up in Fort Bend county in the Needville area.

She married Robert T. Smith, Jr. and they lived in the Houston area for several years before moving to Teague in 1971.

Mrs. Smith was a dedicated homemaker all of her life and enjoyed shopping.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Teague.

Mrs. Smith is survived by sons, James Robert Smith and wife Dolphin of San Antonio and Mark A. Smith and wife Doris of Teague; grandchildren, Amanda Victoria Smith Kelly and husband Shawn of San Antonio, Robert Neil Smith of San Francisco, CA and Sara Elizabeth Smith of New Braunfels; sister, Marie Kasparek of Houston; many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Alan Van Hooser.

Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
