More than 60 people attended the Walk-a-Thon for Education held Saturday in Teague by the Dallas and Fort Worth chapters of BTW/JAB Alumni Association.

The event was held at Brooks-Washington Park, opened with a greeting and prayer by Leroy Taylor.

Walkers had a police escort through the southern part of Teague.

Participants who completed the 4-mile walk were Jaylon Walker, Shirley Levels, Marvin Levels, Maxine Levels, Phyllis Childress, Frances Allen, Homer Brown, Delicia Brown, Dinzel Walker, Pauyla Walker, Michael Shed, Oscar Brown, Bobby McGensey and Arthur Busby.

The mile-and-a-half walk was completed by 38 persons.

Served after the walk were hot dogs, nachos and fruit.

Door prizes, goody bags and souvenir sun visors and water bottles were given to participants.
