VFW Ladies set autumn schedule
VFW Ladies Auxiliary will meet every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to decorate Christmas stockings for veterans in the Waco VA Hospital as well as working on other projects.
The club president’s special project is to fill the needs for the clothes closet at the VA Hospital in Waco. Items needed are washing powder, bath, shower and personal hygiene products.
Also needed are nonperishable items such as Vienna sausage, sardines, and crackers, etc. for the homeless veterans.
Ladies who have not paid their dues, it’s time to do so. Lifetime memberships are also available.

September Schedule
Sept. 11 – Patriotic Day and citywide garage sale
The ladies auxiliary needs items for the citywide garage sale. Donations can be dropped off at the VFW, 198 VFW Lane. Volunteers are needed to work the sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sept. 14 - Monthly meeting and VFW birthday
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. prior to the 7:30 p.m. meeting. Members should wear their uniforms.
Sept. 15 – Deadline for food basket
All nonperishable food item donations for the food basket must be turned in by this date. The basket will be raffled off at the Oct. district meeting.
Sept. 18 – POW-MIA Service
There will be a POWMIA Service at 2 p.m. All are invited to join in on the day of remembrance.
Sept. 29 – VFW Day
