CAROLYN SUE GARRICK

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie for Carolyn Sue Garrick, 77, of Waxahachie who died Aug. 19 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. Interment followed at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

She was born to the late Robert Q. and Muirhead Hankins on Nov. 6, 1932 in Dallas.

Mrs. Garrick was 16 when she graduated from high school and was awarded three college scholarships that she was too young to utilize.

She met the love of her life, Val Garrick, married two months later, and enjoyed 53 years of life with him.

Affectionately known as “Sweet Sue,” she was also called “Meemaw.” She enjoyed talking with her friends and family, loved her Lord, helping others, the Dallas Cowboys, and any sport played by her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Mrs. Garrick was known for her sense of style and cheerful attitude.

She is survived by son, Russell Garrick of Waxahachie; daughter, Suzann Garrick Hyles and husband Mike of Italy; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Garrick is preceded in death by husband, Val Garrick and brother, Rev. B.B. Hankins.

Officiating for services were Rev. Ken Ansell, Michael Hankins and Mack Hankins.

Making arrangements was Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
