Funeral services were held Wednesday at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Chapel in Hunstville for Amanda Jean Hyvl, 29, of Fairfield who died Aug. 20 in a Houston hospital. Interment followed at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Mrs. Hyvl was born on Aug. 26, 1980 in Charleston, SC to parents Donald and Brenda Raven.

She was a mother, homemaker, lover and collector of lighthouses, and writer of published poems.

Mrs. Hyvl enjoyed her family, life, the water and swimming and was known as a very patient mother.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Hyvl; children, Destiny, Kiersten and Stephen, Jr.; parents; sister, Teresa Doyle; father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Sara Hyvl.

Officiating was Dr. Richard Rogers.

Making arrangements was Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
