Students in Wortham Independent School District and their parents celebrate the start of the fall term this Friday with a back-to-school bash.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Refreshements are to be served in the cafeteria after the celebration.

On tap are introductions of the football teams, cheerleaders, band, and new teachers and staff.

Earlier this week, orientation was held for senior high students. Topics discussed included attendance, dress code, scheduling and parking lot permits.

Junior high orientation is set for second period Monday, the first day of school.
