JAN MORRIS

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague for Jan Morris, 61, of Teague who died Aug. 14 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

Mrs. Morris was born to parents Ray and Ann Watkins of Tulsa, OK and moved to Texas in 1968.

She worked as a computer operator in Dallas for several years before moving to Teague where she opened a ceramic shop.

Mrs. Morris went to work as a dispatcher for the Limestone County Sheriff Dept. and later as a deputy for Freestone County Sheriff Dept.

She most recently was the secretary for First United Methodist Church in Teague.

Mrs. Morris enjoyed working in her yard and growing flowers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Teague and active in the Friendship Circle, but was recently attending church at Eighth Avenue Baptist.

She is survived by her husband W.G. (Jerry) Morris of Teague; daughters Lou Ann McKethan and husband Dana of Krum, Lori Griffith and husband Mike of Krum, Mary Kay Sartor of Teague and Donna Bramm and husband Joe of Morrison of Illinois, sons, William Yager of Sanger and William Morris and wife Debbie of Waco;

Grandchildren Keith Williamson, Mackenzie Griffith, Hannah McKethan, Mattie McKethan, Andrew Sartor, Taylor Sartor, Jared Farthing and Krystyne Farthing; three greatgrandchildren;

mother; sisters Barbara McGonial of Broken Arrow, OK and Patricia Watkins of Tulsa, OK; brother Dennis Watkins and wife Debbie of Tulsa, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her father.

Officiates for the service were Brother Richard Gillet and Brother Steve Cowart.

Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
