BOBBY DEWITT HOLLOWAY
Funeral services were held Saturday at Griffin- Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield for Bobby DeWitt Holloway, 79, of Fairfield who died in his home Aug. 12. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery.
Holloway was born on Sept. 30, 1930 to parents Robert E. and Mary Lou Owens Holloway of Long Lake. On Aug. 9,1952 he married Lola Ben Terry.
Holloway served in the air force from Dec. 1950- 1954 and earned the rank of staff sergeant. After being discharged from the military, he took a career in the oil and gas industry and retired from Mobil Oil in 1986 as manager of overseas purchasing.
Upon retirement, he served on the Freestone County Farm Bureau board of directors and was a member of the Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.
Holloway is survived by his wife of 58 years; children Terri Holloway Steers of Fairfield, Sandra Kay McAdams and husband Robert of Fairfield, Donna Lynn Tucker and husband Bruce of Justin;
Grandchildren Robert Clifton Magness of Denver, CO, Shannon McAdams of Fairfield, Autumn Tucker Cline and husband Chris of Haslet, Kandace Pickens of Fairfield, Jessica Tucker Evans of Dallas; greatgrandchildren Olivia Elise McAdams, Dylan Michelle Pickens and Caden Andrew Pickens;
Brother Joe Mack Holloway and wife Fae of Cayuga; sisters Mrs. Addie Jean Haydon of Fairfield, Mrs. Neta Eldridge and husband James of Oakwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary E. Campbell.
Officiating services was Pastor Ed Ridge of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield.
Pallbearers were Billy Bob Haydon, Gary Chappell, James Robert Eldridge, Roy Casey III, Lynn Kimball and Bill White.
