THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD lost an estimated 118,860 gallons of water when a highway work crew planted a construction sign in the middle of a water main in the 300 block of E. Commerce Street. The private contractor, Road Safe, has been billed $1,895.42 for damages and spilled water.
