Funeral services were held Tuesday in Wortham for Yrene Morgan, 62, of Wortham who died last Wednesday at Los Angeles, CA. Interment followed services at Wortham Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Pueblo, CO to Richard and Ernestine Jimenez Gallegos on Feb. 13, 1948 and married Owen Morgan on Dec. 27, 1969.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, vice president of Central Texas Chapter of Municipal Clerks and a member of Texas Municipal Clerks Association as well as a member of the choir of the First Baptist Church of Wortham.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband; son Jeremy Morgan and wife Jean of Midway; mother; brother Ricky Gallegos and wife Brenda of Denver, CO; sisters Ramona Huffman and husband Richard of Obituaries

Bakersfield, CA, Polly Horton and husband Frankie of Corsicana;

Sister-in-law Pam Craig of Wortham; granddaughters Elena Reese and husband Justin of Midway, Kasey Rangel of Huntsville and Kelly McWhorter of Willis; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and honorary sister, Carol June Bailey.

Serving as pallbearers were Chunky Busby, J.R.

McLelland, Josh McLelland, Scott Batts, Pep Batts, Thomas Echartea and Kelly Craig.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Brewer, Richard Hawthorne and Justin Reese.

Rev. Michael Donathan officiated.

Making arrangements was Porter Funeral Home in Wortham.
