June 5 in Groesbeck . . . Rogers, Daniel exchange vows

MR. AND MRS. COOPER DANIEL MR. AND MRS. COOPER DANIEL Janet Elizabeth Rogers became the bride of Cooper J. Daniel at the River Oakes Ranch of Mike and Debbie Evans of Groesbeck on June 5.

Shannon Hopkins, youth minister of First Baptist Church in Teague, conducted the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jerianne and Mike Terry of Teague and Mark and Kim Rogers of McKinney. Parents of the groom are Mike Daniel of Fairfield and Teresa Daniel of Fairfield

The wedding took place on the columned veranda of the Evans’ plantation style home, and the bride entered to the acoustic version of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.” At the close of the ceremony, Jerry Morris, grandfather of the bride, sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Christina Bowers Mims on the keyboard.

Ushers were Stewart Rogers, brother of the bride, Garrett Foster of Teague, and Kyle Sessions of Wortham.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Enzoani formal length gown of Venice lace. The modified mermaid silhouette featured a strapless sweetheart neckline with an organza layered rouched bust accented by a Swarovski crystal appliqué and had a scalloped hemline with a detachable chapel length train. The bride’s hair was pulled to the side and adorned by an ivory rose, and she carried a bouquet of green and ivory roses combined with ivory hydrangeas and calla lilies dotted with chocolate brown hypericum berries.

The groom’s sister Mika Daniel was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Rogers, sister of the bride, Raeanne Contu, sister of the bride, Sarah Waldrip of Teague, Amy Evans of Houston, Lauren Gautner of Austin, and Sarah Sirkel of Waco.

Bridesmaids wore dresses of chocolate brown cotton sateen and carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet of ivory and green miniature hydrangeas and calla lilies plus tea roses accented with chocolate brown hypericum berries.

Best man was Kyle Foree of Fairfield. Groomsmen were Jason Terry of Fort Worth, Brian Evans of Houston, Ryan Campbell of Teague, Kyle Shipley of Fort Worth, John Johnson of Athens, and Byron Turner of Waco. The groom and the groomsmen were attired in tan Caravelli suits and wore boutonnières of ivory roses.

Kylynne Terry, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore an ivory dress accented with a satin sash of chocolate brown matching the bridesmaids’ dresses. She carried an ivory sateen basket filled with chocolate colored rose petals.

Brady Williams, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer and wore a white collard shirt and tan slacks matching the groomsmen. He carried an ivory sateen pillow.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Terry chose a taupe and pink short bolero jacket dress, and Mrs. Daniel, mother of the groom, wore a champagne colored belted dress with scooped neckline.

Following the ceremony, a buffet, with fountains of fruit and sangria punches, was catered by Gail Griffin of Teague. On the lawn, a tent with a dance floor was surrounded by round tables draped with ivory cloths and decorated with centerpieces of hydrangeas in shades of white and green. Guests danced to music provided by the Smokin’ Gun Band that played selections ranging from the popular songs of today to the golden classics of yesteryear.

The bride’s table, covered with an ivory cloth, featured a wedding cake of ivory and clover-colored fondant with a chocolate colored ribbon along the bottom of each of the five tiers and topped with a scrolled “D. “ The tiers alternated between a round vintage design and square basket-weave design. The groom’s table was highlighted by a red velvet cake, iced with chocolate colored fondant with rustic stars and a vintage design matching the bride’s cake.

Members of the house party serving the cakes and registering the guests were Ashley Morrison of Malakoff and Mandi Chapin of Corsicana.

Guests waved sparklers as the couple left for a honeymoon in the Bahamas. Upon returning, they will live in Fairfield.

The groom is employed by MD Construction of Fairfield, and the bride is employed by the Mildred ISD as a secondary language arts teacher and assistant volleyball and basketball coach.
