Grand jurors hear charges
Drug and alcohol related charges accounted for seven of eight felony criminal indictments returned by the Freestone county grand jury this month.
The grand jury convened in its regular monthly session Wednesday, July 21, at the courthouse in Fairfield.
Charges on which action was taken include tampering with physical evidence, driving while intoxicated, escape, possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine.
Indicted by the grand jury are:
—Aaron Bryce Childers, 25, of Fairfield on a June 30 complaint of tampering with physical evidence, allegedly swallowing suspected marijuana.
—Frank O’Donnell, 57, of Houston on a charge of DWI on May 8. The indictment shows six prior DWI convictions.
—Dustin Adrian Porter, 26, of Carthage on a complaint of DWI on May 27. The indictment shows two prior DWI convictions.
—Dustin Adrian Porter, 26, of Carthage on a May 27 charge of escape after being arrested on a DWI charge.
—Rachel Michelle Weaver, 26, of Teague on a complaint of possession of cocaine on July 2.
—Virginia Dabney Johnson, 43, of Mexia on a June 28 charge of possession of cocaine.
—Marcus Jerome Busby, 33, of Teague on a complaint of manufacture or delivery of cocaine on June 18.
—Mark Wesley Lagow, 44, of The Woodlands on a May 28 charge of possession of methamphetamine.
