JONES CHAPEL

Jones Chapel United Methodist Church will have a “rainbow tea” July 31 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Theme is “The Lord is My Strength”. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and costs $10.

FUMC MEXIA

First United Methodist Church in Mexia is hosting Living Proof Simulcast message and worship Sept. 18 at no charge for area women.

The event features teacher Beth Moore and worship leader Travis Cottrell via simulcast from Chicago from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MT. PLEASANT

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Plum Creek community in Oakwood will hold revival services Thursday and Friday nights at 7:30 led by Rev. Roderick Cunningham of Dickerson.

A musical will be held Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and homecoming services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Cunningham as guest speaker.

Theme is “Not by might, not by power, but my spirit, saith the Lord”.

Minister of ceremonies is Pastor Flora L. Cobb and Christian Teaching Center of Tyler.

Special guests include Mary Penrice of “In Your Face Ministry”, Christopher Bolden, Minister Doris Huggins of Lakewood Church, Ella Colemen, and Katherine Coleman of “The Walls Came Tumbling Down Ministry” of Houston. Faith Temple Ministries on north highway 75 will host their second annual Women of Royalty program this Sunday afternoon at 4.

Guest speaker will be Pastor Nunnally of Jones Chapel Methodist church.

On Saturday, a seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and breakfast will be served. Teachers are M. Cottman of Cedar Hill, C.D. Daniels, Sr., pastor P.A. Riacher, and guest speaker evangelist Angela Porter of Ft. Worth.
