At Fairfield elementary . . . Recycle old electronics

Fairfield Independent School District teams up next week with Technology Recycling of San Antonio to collect old computers and electronic equipment.

A recycling truck will be on hand at the elemetary school bus loop from noon until 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 29.

Accepted are computers, laptops, CRT and LCD monitors, VCR and DVD players, stereos and home audio/video equipment, cellular telephones, multiline telephone systems, copiers, printers, fax machines, hard drives, keyboards, computer accessories, cameras and more.

There are charges for some items that cannot be recycled, but can be disposed of—-$25 for televisions 19 inches and smaller, $50 for televisions 20 inches and larger and $25 for business-class copiers.

Copiers that can fit on a desk will be accepted at no charge.

Items such as hard drives can be shredded at costs of $5 per drive if already removed from a computer and $10 if still in

computer.
