PERIDOT SALON MOVED RECENTLY to a newly remodeled building at 113 E. Commerce Street in Fairfield and joined the chamber of commerce. A ribbon cutting was hosted last week by Fairfield chamber of commerce to welcome Peridot Salon as a new member and recognize its move into a new home.

The business recently moved into remodeled space at 113 E. Commerce Street.

Owner Averie Grant reports that her in-laws, Glen Harris and Linda Grant, bought the building for her to relocate the business she bought in July 2009.

“We needed more space,” Mrs. Grant says.

The remodeling work included texturing and painting walls, staining the concrete floor, adding new space for a tanning bed and manicure/pedicure station and installing salon stations.

Peridot moved to its new home on June 14, after about three months of remodeling work.

The business provides hair styling, manicures and pedicures, and massage therapy. The front part of the building is set up as retail space for clothing, jewelry, shoes, home decorating items and gourmet coffee.

Mrs. Grant was reared in Red Oak, graduating high school there in 2005, and has lived in Fairfield about three years.

She and her husband, James, are parents of a 15- month old daughter, Allison.

The business owner works as a hairstylist and does manicures and pedicures.

Also at Peridot are hairstylists Marilyn Farris and Anette Gillian, massage therapist Katrina Ward, Becky Packer and Ashley Whatley.

Peridot is open from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday.
