BEST OF SHOW WINNERS at this year’s home ec project show include, front lr, Addison Hearn, Carson Black, Dillon McAdams, and back l-r, Brianne Faughn, Scarlett Miller, Tammy McCord and Kati Bradford.
More than 130 ribbons were awarded out of 301 entries in the annual Home Economics Project Fair held last week during the Freestone County Fair.
Best of show winners in sewing were senior youth Scarlett Miller, youth Carson Black and adult Melissa Huckaby, in photography youth best of show was Addison Hearn, senior youth Kati Bradford and adult Tammy McCord;
Art division, youth Dillon McAdams, senior youth Alexandria Johns and adult Jamie Hayton; baked goods, Rheagan Cotton for chocolate cookies, Andrew Collins for pound cake and Barbara Arthur, cakes;
Food preservation, adult Lena Newman and youth Brazos Monico, hot sauce, and senior youth Chelsea McQueen, pickles; needlework and crafts, adult Sandra Young and quilts, senior youth Brianne Faughn and adult Kathy Earley. Miss Faughn and Mrs. Earley also earned Go-Texan awards.
“There were some really amazing exhibits this year and each contestant should be very pleased with their contribution to the county fair,” says project fair director Laura Craddick.
