Sheriff’s Report
Sheriff's Report Number 494- Deputy house to FCR- 930 on report of disturbance, upon arrival found pickup just down the road from the residence parked illegally in the road. While approaching same, one broke and ran from the scene, another still behind the wheel. This young man behind the wheel couldn't begin to think about fleeing as he was passed smooth out, very drunk. After Dep. House managed to get him awakened, and saw with accuracy what his condition was, he was arrested and his illegally parked vehicle was towed.
Deputy Elom to FM-489, husband/wife threats being made. FEMS to FCR-237, 54 year old Lady passed out twice. Teague PD Reed and Martin return runaway son back to Monroe. Apparently, he had escaped on horseback. Man calls, stuck his vehicle under trinity River Bridge on US-287, then says never mind, some help has arrived…..Calls back in 30 minutes, still stuck, presently having an altercation with his wife and daughter, transferred call to Anderson County S.O. as in their County.
Wortham VFD to N. 2nd, wife fell, can't get up. Dep. Elom to FCR-331 where Lady reports golf carts driving in her yard. Fairfield PD advised of problem at Dairy Queen, female threw another's phone against a wall. Deputy Harrison to FCR- 481, oilfield gate rammed by vehicle, lock finished breaking after being partially cut with bolt cutters, diesel possibly stolen out of forklift, but workers unsure.
TPD Howard to S. 9th, Lady moving, items stolen from her yard. THDEMS to Oak Street, possible heart problems. Dep. Harrison to loose horse near Shanks. Dep. Aultman to unwanted visitor problems, FCR-1267, told to stay away in the future. TPD Martin to MLK, resident hears voices outside at 4AM in morning.
Had the pleasure of meeting the new Mrs. H. J. Cannon yesterday, a very nice Lady, who comes to us by way of Forney. Oh, by the way…..If any of our readers would like a free kitten, just contact Jerrel and Flossie Little in Teague…..But, you'd better move quick 'cause Jerrel said those things are going like hotcakes! Said he'd never seen anything go so quick! Ol' Jerrel could sell snowballs to an Eskimo but I have a sneaking hunch you could get one of these kitties for a song.
County Fair Parade yesterday. Hot, but a slight southerly breeze. A slick Parade once again with, as always, a large turnout. Pat Chappell and her Sis had a special visitor viewing the Parade with them, Geneva (Penny) Chappell Morrison, Pat's Sister-In-law, who said she had 'hitchhiked all the way from Pasadena' just to see the Parade again. Our Thanks to every Participant, Parade Organizers and onlookers for their cooperation and assistance. The Carnival kicked off immediately following the Parade, with a large crowd present through the evening.
DPS Putz checking on stranded Big Rig, Mile 203. Fairfield and Dew VFD's, DPS Putz and FEMS to accident, Mile 188. TPD Reed to stolen bicycle report on Spruce. DPS Putz, FEMS and Fairfield VFD to accident, Boyd Curve, US-84. Deputy Howerton books one into Jail, ordered by Judge, non-payment of child support. Deputies McGowan and House arrest another on same charge, wanted on warrant, at county Fairgrounds.
Dusty Brewer brings another down from Court, Child Support not paid, to Jail by order of Judge. FEMs to PR-1295, Lady fell, very weak. TPD Howard to Jackson, horse in yard. Stray dogs causing problems, Donie. Park rangers at Lake Fairfield contacted, girl bit by cat. DPS Adams and Jones, Deputies Robert Willis and McGowan, THDEMS and Dew VFD to accident, Mile 189. FEMS to s. Bateman, man with seizures.
Dew VFD and FEMS to FCR-414, Lady took medications, can't seem to wake up. Complaint of loose gravel coming from dump trucks, US-84 east, Anderson County advised as headed their way. THDEMS and Donie VFD to Main in Donie, possible stroke. 18 wheeler on FCR-403 pulled power line loose from house.
Deputy Shipley just walked in, follow-up with man jailed in Rusk, located whereabouts of stolen generator and camper trailer. I asked if he was able to get a confession…..He replied "no, the guy's not talking, but he'll have a hard time denying knowledge of the camper trailer as he was living in it when arrested!" Yep, that will probably be a pretty direct link!
Deputy Shipley responds to FCR-930, man pulling shredder behind pickup, trying to make sure the shredder didn't snag a tree limb, met another vehicle, noticed a "pop", and after meeting and passing that vehicle, beige in color, later found his rear window broken and a perfectly round small caliber hole adjacent to the window, believed his vehicle shot after meeting the other.
TPD Sykora to Jail with man on McLennan County warrant. DPS Purnell to Mile 209, cow/car wreck. Dep. Shaw to East FM-489, suspicions another has gone around a house pouring gasoline. TPD Sykora and Howard to Dairy Queen, trouble on the parking lot. Troubles on Pecan Street, one threatening to kill another's dog, TPD Sykora and Cordova to same.
Drunk man reported at Drive-Thru at Mickey D's. More family troubles on FM-489, one said to be threatening to kill other in sleep, Dep. Robert Willis to same. Child, 3-4 years, found running in a herd by himself at County Fair….. Mother located. Family at County Fair, gone three hours, house not locked, returns to find TV, electronics and weapons missing, Dep. Aldrich to same.
Deputy Diana Willis to sister/brother troubles, FCR-237. Dep. McGowan to/from Limestone County Jail, prisoner transport. Deputy Shipley clears up forgery of stolen check problem from May, a former employee, stole checks when quit, made one out to himself, cashed it in Dallas, charges filed. Dep. Robert Willis to Family troubles on FCR-521. FEMS, Deputy Aultman and doctor Chopper assisting Lady on FCR-232, carried to Providence Hospital.
FPD Matejowsky arrests man at D&R Private Club, Public intoxication and Disorderly. Teague VFD to FCR-650, haybaler on fire. TPD Sykora to Grayson Street, loose cow. Also to missing 16 year old, Hullum Drive. THDEMS to Oak Street, 85 year old man believed having stroke. TPD Cox and Noll to Monroe, missing 13 year old. Streetman VFD to vehicle fire on East Hubbard. Another at same time afire at Big Brown, FCR-235, but they got it extinguished quickly.
TPD Martin and Sykora stop man on Monroe, seemed to be extra shy, when exited from car, kept trying to face away from the officers, walking away from them, etc. His cigarette located by the car door where he apparently had discarded it as exiting, cocaine in same, to Jail. One arrested and jailed from Fair Grounds by FPD Frasier, drunk. And, a bit later, more drinkers spotted walking around with beer bottles in their hands, one ran. Upon exiting the Fair Ground area, at speed afoot, he ran over three youngsters, all three receiving scrapes and lacerations due to his actions, apprehended by FPD Albert Gallegos, now in Jail, Public Intoxication, evading Arrest and Injury to a Child times three.
TxDOT to tree down, FM-489. FEMS to local Chevron in Fairfield, possible heart attack. Dew VFD to vehicle fire, Mile 192. Deputy escorts Census Taker to rural address on his required second visit. DPS Putz advised of call received from Dispatch, 18-Wheeler hauling I-Beams, all four straps broken, Mile 189. A very dangerous proposition for all other motorists.
Teague VFD to grass fire on Huckaby. Call comes in from Rooster's Bar across the line, male assaulted sister, took her vehicle, left her injured and afoot on the parking lot of the beer joint, Limestone County advised of same, to send their Deputies. FEMS and Butler VFD to FCR-275, severe stomach and back pains. FPD dealing with missing 16 year old grandson.
Man calls from IH-45, another vehicle won't let him pass, every time he tries to go around, the other guy speeds up. How fast you running? "Eightyfive!"…… Thought about slowing down? Three motorcycles doing wheelies, Mile 206. Dep. Robert Willis brings in man headed to Dallas for a "Rave Party." His only problem was he was bringing his own 'Ecstacy'. Now in Jail, Possession of Controlled Substance.
Deputies to Husband/Wife Troubles, FCR-521. To another deal of same nature, FM-27, wife kicking him out. Commissioner Luke Ward called on tree across FCR- 540. Butler VFD and FEMS to East FM-489, 35 year old passed out. Deputy Robertson to FCR-241, dog shot, sign removed. Frequent Flyer released from custody over the weekend due to possibility of losing his house, apparently got to jugging, calls multiple times, same old tricks, no change. If he'd just forget the alcohol on the weekends, his life would be so much easier.
TPD Officers and THDEMS to report of assault on N. 6th. Older man and younger female in squabble that got physical on 6th in Teague, one arrested. More troubles of same nature on Harmon, FPD Tiner arrests one male after slapping female. Man found laying in field in Mine Area, FM-2570, possible heart attack. Deputy Harrison arrests man in Teague on Warrant.
County Fair winds down on Saturday. As you see those who donated their time to organize, plan and keep it running, tell them thanks. They put in lots of efforts for this 6 Day Extravaganza every year. No, our County Fair is not as big as Houston or Dallas or a host of other large areas…..But try and name another County of our approximate population and resources who puts on an all-week show like we have here.
