Eight Freestone county area students earned degrees at Sam Houston State University in May.

The students are from Fairfield, Teague, Oakwood and Mexia.

From Fairfield are Corey De Mon Davis, bachelor of business administration; Janet Elizabeth Rogers, bachelor of science in kinesiology; and Colleen Dennae Walsh, bachelor of science in psychology.

Teague students earning degrees are Kristin Denise Goodson, bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies; and Heather Renee Pope, bachelor of fine arts in studio art.

Oakwood student Leslie Evette Cunningham earned a bachelor of arts degree in history.

From Mexia are James Zeb Judd, bachelor of science in political science; and Christopher Lee Martinez, bachelor of science in computing science.
