Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Sembera, 87, were held May 30 at First United Methodist Church in Teague. Rev. Jeff Powers officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sembera passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Parkview Hospital in Mexia.
She was born in Teague on June 11, 1922 to Johnson and Alma Harper and graduated from Teague high school with the class of 1940. She worked as a bookkeeper for Nicholas Grocery where she met her husband, Ed Sembera. They were married on March 7, 1944 and shared more than 66 years together. Mrs. Sembera was a loving housewife and mother. She joined First United Methodist Church in Teague at age nine and was an active member in Teague and at Hyde Park Methodist Church in Austin for more than 77 years.
Mrs. Sembera is survived by her husband, Edwin R. Sembera of Teague, son Ron Sembera of Teague, sisters Johnnie Lou Jones of Mexia and Lois Gauntt of Teague, three nieces and two nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnson and Alma Harper; two sons, Bobby Ed Sembera and Billy Paul Sembera and sister, Billie Joe Harper Guyton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, Teague.
