Deer causes vehicle wreck in state park
An Arlington man visiting Lake Fairfield last week crashed his vehicle inside the park property when he reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
The wreck occurred about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, on Park Road 3058.
Sustaining cuts and bruises in the wreck was Andrew Beasley, 30.
Beasley was westbound on the park road when he swerved left to avoid hitting a deer on the road, then oversteered to the right, causing his 1998 Dodge pickup truck to go into a side skid, Department of Public Safety Trooper Curtis Putz reports.
The pickup slid off the road and hit a tree on the passenger side, which threw the truck in a 180- degree spin until it hit a tree on the driver’s side.
After hitting the second tree, the pickup went nose first into a creek.
Beasley was issued a speeding ticket in the wreck.
Speed limit on the park road is 30 miles per hour.
