Lue Nell West Hayes
Services were held recently for Lue Nell West Hayes, 75, who died May 14 in Palestine.
Mrs. Hayes was born May 16, 1934 in Thornton to Harrison and Norma Lee Scott West. She attended Blackshear and Washington high school in Groesbeck and attended Dennis Chapel United Obituaries
Church, and later Grace Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Groesbeck.
She married Bobby Tatum, and later married Albert Hayes.
Mrs. Hayes is preceded in death by her parents, sons Bobby Lynn Tatum, Bobby Lewis Tatum, daughter Katie Mae Hayes, stepdaughter Leona Hayes, brothers A.Z. West, Harry West, Harold Riley West, James West, Milton West, and sisters Mernice Robinson, La Nora West and Bonnie Mae Brizel.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years Albert Hayes, Sr., of Buffalo, sons Ronnie Gene (Queen) Tatum, Mexia, Albert Hayes, Jr., Buffalo, daughter Phylis Paulette Hayes (Mickey), Jewett, sisters Lee Marie Smith of Dallas, and Ethel Mae Chambers of Groesbeck, son-in-law Frederick Joe Parks;
Grandchildren Londa and Cedric Randle, Charles and Trina Gibson, Patrick Gibson, Britney Gibson and Kerry Gibson, 12 greatgrandchildren, special nephews Roy Milton West and Melvin Burns, caretakers Jeffery Thompson and Lanell Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Emanuel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
